About Professor Austyn Snowden

As well as being a Director of Snowden Research, Austyn is Chair in Mental Health at University of the West of Scotland. Before going into academia he was a clinical nurse for over 25 years working in Australia, Saudi, the Channel Isles and the UK. He is a NMC registered teacher, specialist practitioner and independent prescriber.

His research interests include medicine management in mental health, ethics, originality, person-centred care and validation techniques. He is author/editor of three books, ten book chapters, ten reports, 55 peer review papers but only one blog. His research was submitted to REF2014. A full list of Austyn's publications is here.
